Chris Evans Says It's an Easier Sell to Bring Him Back to the MCU as Johnny Storm Than Captain America
Chris Evans may not be open to coming back to play Captain America again in the MCU, but he’s totally up for returning to the role of Johnny Storm, a.k.a. The Human Torch, for Fantastic Four!
During a recent interview with MTV News, Evans was asked about playing a variant of Johnny Storm at some point in the MCU. He replied:
"God, wouldn't that be great? Wouldn't that be great? No, no one's ever come to me about that. I mean, I don't exactly look the same anymore. That was 15, almost 20 years ago. Oh my God, I'm old. But I really love that character, but I think… aren't they doing something now with Fantastic Four?"
On the possibility of playing a variant despite a new Fantastic Four he explained that it would be an easier sell for him than coming back at Captain America:
"Yeah, I guess that's true. I mean, I guess all bets are off. Yeah. Look, I would love it. I would love it. That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap. You know what I mean? Cap is so precious to me. And you know, I almost don't wanna disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn't really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So I loved that role and, you know, who knows."
At this point, anything is possible in the MCU, especially with all of the different variants running around in different universes. Seeing Chris Evans back in the role of Johnny Storm wouldn’t be the craziest thing that’s happened in the MCU!
What do you think? Would you like to see Evans back at Johnny Storm in the MCU?
