Chris Evans Surprises Young Fan Battling Cancer
I love seeing uplifting stories like this. During the holidays, actor Chris Evans took time out of his busy schedule to visit 9-year-old Kenny Botting, who is a huge Captain America fan that is battling brain cancer at Christopher's Haven in Boston.
During his visit Evans gave Kenny some gifts, took a few photos, signed some autographs, and played with him. Kenny even got to tie the actor down to a chair. Evans is a big supporter of Christopher's Haven, which "provides a home away from home for kids and their families while they battle cancer." During a brief interview with CBS Boston, Evans said:
"It’s their strength that gives me strength that gives people like me strength. Any way you can bring a smile and give positive words of reinforcement and encouragement, it's worth it."
I've been a fan of Evans for a long time, and stuff like this makes me like him even more. What an awesome guy. Kenny must have felt like one of the luckiest kids in the world to have met one of his heroes. Before Evans, left Kenny told him,
"I am more than happy. I just want to say thank you, thanks for coming."
