Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day to Join VACATION Sequel

Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) are in negotiations to join New Line Cinema's Vacation reboot/sequel. If cast, they will join Ed Helms and Christina Applegate on the project.

Horrible Bosses writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will direct the movie from a script that they wrote. The new Vacation film will follow the adventures of Clark Griswold's grown-up son Rusty (Helms). He takes his own family on a road trip that will be full of all kinds of crazy antics.

According to Variety, Hemsworth will play Audrey’s husband, and Day will play a river raft touring guide. It will be really interesting seeing Hemsworth take on a comedy like this. Thor can be a bit comedic, but it's pretty dry. This will be a very different kind of film for him, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they utilize him. Day is always hilarious, though, so he's going to fit in perfectly.

Hemsworth will shoot Vacation before taking on Universal Picture's The Huntsman, which is a spin-off of Snow White and the Huntsman, in the first quarter of 2015.
