Chris Hemsworth Is the Latest to Join Kevin Smith's JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT

Director Kevin Smith has announced that Avengers: Endgame star Chris Hemsworth has joined Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. It’ll be just a cameo role, but it’s pretty fun to see that Smith managed to get Hemsworth on board! The filmmaker made the announcement in a fun and playful way on Instagram saying:

"Sometimes I like to highlight unknown actors in our industry - and I think this fresh face from young Hollywood might soon find fame and fortune on the Silver Screen! He’s newcomer Chris Hemsworth and I’m predicting right here that Chris is gonna take Tinsel Town by storm one day! The boy is like a god who thundered down from another universe! But it’s not some kinda dark world because this guy is no black hat - he’s an artistic avenger who’s just looking to book his first gig on the way to his ultimate endgame: a S.A.G. card!"

"So I’m gonna take a chance on this up and coming charismatic kid from Australia and help him out on his star trek with a low key role in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot," the director continues. "He’s a killer comedic actor but I keep telling him that the real money’s in Marvel Studios movies. In a just world, he’d get to at least screen test for them. Regardless, I’ll keep you posted on Chris’ Hollywood progress. He should go far, because Chris is a super nice charmer who’s crazy talented and incredibly generous with his time. If you can get past the guy’s unorthodox looks, you’ll find a whole Hems worth of raw, untapped talent!"

Hemsworth joins previously cast Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Craig Robinson (The Office), Frankie Shaw (SMILF), Justin Long (Tusk), and Jordan Monsanto, who is a producer of several of Smith’s film projects, Method Man and Redman. Shannon Elizabeth, Rosario Dawson, and Molly Shannon will also be in the film. Then there are Flash stars Grant GustinTom Cavanagh, and Carlos Valdes,

Saban Films picked up the North American distribution rights to the film, which will follow Jay and Silent Bob on a new adventure, one that can't necessarily be classified as a traditional reboot. Smith previously explained:

"If you remember Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, it was a movie in which Jay and Silent Bob found out Hollywood was making a movie about them so they went cross country to Hollywood to stop that from happening. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is completely fucking different. In Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Jay and Silent Bob find out that Hollywood is making a reboot of that old movie that they had made about them, and they have to go cross the country to Hollywood to stop it all over again. it’s literally the same fucking movie all over again. It’s a movie that makes fun of sequels and remakes and reboots while being all three at the same time."

What do you think about Hemsworth playing around in the world of Kevin Smith?
