Chris Miller Teases the Multiple Live-Action Marvel TV Projects He's Developing for Sony

At the Television Critics Association panel this week, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producer Chris Miller talked a little bit (as much as he was able) about his and partner Phil Lord’s upcoming work on the upcoming TV projects that are being built upon the catalog of Sony-controlled Marvel characters. Miller said the multiple series will be created to link to one another, in the same vein as the movies and upcoming series in the MCU and Disney+. Here are his exact words.

“We are developing a handful of live-action shows using Sony’s Marvel characters, of which there are like 900 characters. We’re figuring out a way to develop the shows so that each are their own unique experience but are also related.”

While Miller shied away from giving any answers as to where the new projects will end up airing or streaming, he offered instead:

“We’ve been talking to a lot of potential teammates for trying to do something not like anything else that’s been done on television. It’ll be a little while before it all comes together and is on the air, but I think it is going to be something really special,” he added with a literal wink. “Hopefully we’ll know in the next few months where it’ll be and what the schedule will be.”

So while this isn’t a lot to go on for now, I am inclined to believe the Lego Movie directors. If they say we will see something unlike anything else on TV, I am excited! So when we hear more in the next few months, we will let you know. What are you hopeful to see from the Sony Marvel world?
