Chris Pine in Talks to Return for the Next J.J. Abrams-Produced STAR TREK Film
Paramount Pictures and producer J.J. Abrams have been trying to get a new Star Trek movie off the ground since Star Trek Beyond in 2016. Well, it looks like they are finally making some headway on the project!
The studio is now in talks to bring Chris Pine back to play Captain Kirk in the film, and they are also looking to bring back the rest of the cast including Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Lieutenant Uhura, Karl Urban as Dr. Bones McCoy, John Cho as Sulu, and Simon Pegg as Scotty.
Last summer, it was reported that Matt Shakman (WandaVision) was hired to direct the movie, and he’s been supervising the script, which is being written by Josh Friedman and Cameron Squires. That script is based off a draft by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
Details on the story are being kept under wraps for the time being.
