Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Seth Rogen, Anya Taylor-Joy and More Join Nintendo's SUPER MARIO BROS. Animated Movie
Nintendo, Universal Pictures, and Illumination have announced the impressive voice cast that they put together for their upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated movie.
This voice cast is actually pretty awesome. Chris Pratt leads the cast as Mario, and he’s joined by Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The announcement says, “Each voice actor was cast for their ability to capture the unique spirit of their character.” I like the casting choices and they’re all going to be great in the roles that they were chosen to play!
The movie is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who previously worked on the animated series Teen Titans Go! and the film Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. The script will be written by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru). It will be produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto, Representative Director and Fellow of Nintendo.
There aren’t any story details to share yet, but the movie is coming to theaters on December 21st, 2022. What do you think of the casting choices? Does the cast get you excited about watching the movie?
