Chris Pratt to Star in and Produce the Indie Coming of Age Karate Comedy THE BLACK BELT

Chris Pratt has signed on to produce and star in an upcoming coming-of-age indie comedy titled The Black Belt. Variety reports that the film “centers on a shy, unassuming teen boy on a quest for an expertise in karate and his unorthodox uncle who guides him along the way.” Pratt’s banner Indivisible Productions will produce, with producing partner Jon Schumacher on board.

Randall Green (The Perfect Date) wrote the spec script for the film, and the project is currently casting and looking for a director. This is the only information available so far, but with Pratt on board, it’s probably going to be a solid comedy movie.
