Chris Pratt Wants You To Cut Star-Lord a Little Slack For His Actions in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

A lot of fans were pissed off at Star-Lord in Avengers: Infinity War because of how he handled a certain situation in the film. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you're crazy, and there are spoilers ahead.

I'm sure you all remember when Iron Man, Spider-Man, Mantis, Drax, and Doctor Strange were so close to getting the Infinity Gauntlet off of Thanos. Then all of a sudden a cocky Star-Lord lost his shit when he realized Gamora was dead and started beating Thanos in the head with his gun allowing Thanos to regain control of the situation and beat the hell out of them.

I've seen a lot hate come out against Star-Lord for his actions, but actor Chris Pratt isn't having any of it and wants fans to cut Star-Lord some slack. During a recent interview with Radio Times, while promoting Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Pratt was asked why Star-Lord screwed everything up by attacking Thanos while he was under Mantis’ control. It was a moment of weakness that helped lead Thanos to killing off half the population of the universe. Pratt offered the following explanation:

"Look, the guy watched his mother die. He watched as his father figure died in his arms. He was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a [mother-fucking] thing."

Pratt added that this whole thing is something he's very sensitive about. He's wondering why people aren't more pissed off at Thanos! The guy who actually destroyed half the universe. He makes a good point there.

In the end, when Avengers 4 comes out, none of this will matter as I'm sure that most of what Thanos did will be undone somehow. Hell, Dave Bautista is already talking about Drax's return! Then there's the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Remember, Doctor Strange did tell Tony Stark that this was "the only way" for everything to play out in order to save the universe. So, maybe Star-Lord did exactly what he was supposed to do! Don't hate on Star-Lord. After all, he's only half human.

Chris Pratt (with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom co-star Bryce Dallas Howard) talks to RadioTimes.com's Huw Fullerton about the hate he's seen his Marvel character Star-Lord getting after Avengers: Infinity War, and offers his own explanation for Peter Quill's actions against Thanos. Why did Quill attack Thanos over Gamora?
