Christian Bale Confirms He Was in Talks For SOLO and Hopes One Day He Will Be in a STAR WARS Movie
Before Woody Harrelson was cast as Han Solo's mentor in Solo: A Star Wars Story, there were rumors that Christian Bale was in talks for the same role. Well, it turns out those rumors were true. The actor confirmed that he was in talks while appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and said it was very tempting. It also seems like he hopes that one day he will get his chance to star in a Star Wars movie. He says:
“Yes, [it was] very tempting. I not only love the films going back to my childhood but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did Empire of the Sun many years back. There was discussion, [and] I hope there will be future discussions.”
If he hopes there will be future discussions, he obviously still has interest in wanting to be in a Star Wars movie one day, which would be cool. As far as returning to the superhero genre, there's not much interest there. He also says that he hasn't seen the DC films yet involving Ben Affleck's Batman. He also admits that he hasn't seen any of the Marvel films, either!
"I have not [seen Ben Affleck’s Batman]. Yes I’m interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested, but then I realized he just wanted to see the trailer and that was it—I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see. I have to confess I’m not a huge superhero film fan. People seem surprised at that, I don’t know why. I’ve not seen any of the Avengers films or any of those films at all. I hear they’re very good, but I’m quite happy just hearing they’re very good."
That's kinda weird to hear that Bale hasn't really seen any of these comic book movies. Oh well, to each their own!
Is there a specific character in the Star Wars universe that you think Bale would be perfect for or do would you rather him take on a newly created original character for one of these future Star Wars movies?
