Christian Bale Joins THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER as Gorr the God Butcher
Here’s some interesting news. Christian Bale is joining the party over at Marvel! That’s right, the actor was just announced to be joining the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder as the villain Gorr the God Butcher.
Gorr was introduced back in God of Thunder #2 which released January 2013. In the comics, Gorr nearly kills Thor after slaying many gods from various pantheons. This is going to be a very interesting character to see brought to life in the big screen, and I’m particularly interested to see Bale’s take on the character.
The film is being directed by Taika Waititi, and Chris Hemsworth will be back as the God of Thunder, Natalie Portman is reprising the role of Jane Foster, who will also become Thor, Tessa Thompson is returning as Valkyrie and ruler of Asgard, and Chris Pratt will return as Star-Lord.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
