Christina Ricci Heads to Peacock for Dark Drama Series THE ASTROLOGY HOUSE
Christina Ricci is lining up her next TV project, and it’s shaping up to be a dark, character-driven drama with plenty of secrets, tension, and cosmic chaos.
Peacock is developing a series adaptation of The Astrology House, based on the 2024 novel by Carinn Jade, with Ricci attached to star and executive produce.
The project is being written by Lindsay Calhoon Bring, who co-created Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. The series comes from Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group, and is firmly positioned as a dramatic ensemble story with a lethal edge.
The Astrology House centers on the intertwined lives of Rini and Margot, the latter played by Ricci. When Rini invites Margot along with their extended group of friends and family to a vacation at her astrology retreat, old grudges, buried secrets, and unresolved lies start bubbling to the surface.
What begins as a spiritual getaway quickly spirals into something far darker, ultimately ending in death. It’s the kind of pressure-cooker setup that thrives on messy relationships and emotional fallout, a space where Ricci tends to do some of her most compelling work.
Ricci continues to be in high demand thanks to her chilling turn as Misty Quigley on Yellowjackets, a role that earned her an Emmy nomination in 2022. Earlier in her career, she also picked up an Emmy nomination in 2006 for her guest appearance on Grey’s Anatomy.
More recently, she tapped into some nostalgic fun with a key role in Season 1 of Wednesday on Netflix, a neat callback to her Addams Family legacy. Her TV résumé also includes Prime Video’s Z: The Beginning of Everything and the lead role in The Lizzie Borden Chronicles.
Bring has been building a strong track record in genre-driven television. In addition to co-creating and serving as co-showrunner on Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin alongside Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, she previously wrote for Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. She’s also an alum of the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop, class of 2018.
Jade’s novel The Astrology House was published in 2024 by Atria Books.
