Christoph Waltz and Guy Pearce Join The Jim Henson Company's Comedy-Fantasy THE PORTABLE DOOR
The Jim Henson Company is producing a new comedy-fantasy film titled The Portable Door, and Christoph Waltz, Guy Pearce and Patrick Gibson are attached to star in it.
This is a family-friendly movie based on Tom Holt’s popular six-book fantasy series. It tells the story of a young man who “lands a job at a magical firm, only to find that its leaders are hiding darker motives.”
That sounds like a concept for a movie I’d enjoy watching! It’s being written and directed by Jeffrey Walker (Ali’s Wedding), with a shoot schedule aimed for end of year.
Lisa Henson is producing the film alongside Blanca Lista from The Jim Henson Company and Todd Fellman from Story Bridge Films. Here’s a description of the book series that the movie will be based on:
Starting a new job is always stressful (especially when you don't particularly want one), but when Paul Carpenter arrives at the office of J. W. Wells he has no idea what trouble lies in store. Because he is about to discover that the apparently respectable establishment now paying his salary is in fact a front for a deeply sinister organisation that has a mighty peculiar agenda. It seems that half the time his bosses are away with the fairies. But they're not, of course. They're away with the goblins.
What do you think about The Jim Henson Company taking on this project and the cast that has jumped on board?
