Christopher Lloyd Loves RICK AND MORTY and He Wants a BACK TO THE FUTURE Crossover
Back to the Future star Christopher Llyod is a huge fan of the Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon animated series, Rick & Morty. As you know, the show is inspired by Back to the Future and Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly and Lloyd’s Dr. Emmett Brown. Well, Llyod thinks that it would be “fascinating” to see a crossover event where Rick and Morty meet Marty and Doc.
During an interview at German Comic Con Dortmund, Lloyd says he’s been wanting to do a Back to the Future 4 film, but admits that it’s not going to happen, but he would like to see the worlds of Rick and Morty and Marty and Doc collide:
“I think it’s fabulous. I’ve watched it, I love the humor in it, I love the characters. I’ve had a fantasy that they make another Back to the Future, Back to the Future 4. And Back to the Future 4 — it’s not happening — but if it did, Back to the Future 4 collides with Rick and Morty. Someway, somewhere in another time zone, in another space zone.”
Lloyd adds that he imagines the characters sitting down “to have a hamburger or something. I don’t know. But something really way out [there]. Maybe a good writer or something. But I think that would be kind of fun.”
It would be a blast to see and it’s something that the fans would love. At least, just one episode where all these characters meet and embark on a wild adventure together would be insanely awesome. I think a crossover like that is much more doable than producing another Back to the Future movie. The people in charge of these properties need to start talking about making this happen!
