AVENGERS: ENDGAME Writers Revealed a Super Grim Moment Cut From an Early Draft of The Script

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are very popular these days with hits like Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse under their belts. They took some time though and visited Hall H at Comic-Con to answer some questions.

While a lot of the questions and answers were things that they had previously said, the two writers did share some pictures of their planning boards (below) and a very grim moment that was in an early draft of Endgame.

In this early draft, Thanos decided to kill some time in his timeline (referred to in this article as T2) by visiting Earth before Gamora opened up the portal. What did T2 Thanos do during his little vacation to Earth? Well, he murders the Avengers. Once the portal was thrown open, the audience was going to see Thanos step through with a dead Giant-Man behind him while he, Thanos, carried the head of a dead Captain America which is then thrown at the feet of T1 Captain America.

That’s very grim... and they felt it was too dark so they changed it up. What do you think of this crazy moment from an early draft of the Endgame script?
