Christopher Nolan Is Unlikely to Work with Warner Bros. Again
Director Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. have enjoyed a long and successful working relationship with each other over the years. Together they’ve brought us Insomnia, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, The Prestige, and Tenet..
Well, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, it’s unlikely Nolan will work with Warner Bros. again. The reason is the way the studio is treating its upcoming releases.
"After spending years as a top Warner Bros. director, Christopher Nolan, who wrote and directed last year's Tenet, is unlikely to return to the studio with his next project, in part because he was disappointed with the studio's hybrid distribution strategy for 2021."
Knowing Nolan’s deep love for the cinematic experience, it doesn’t surprise me that he would want to find a new home to make his movies. While WB was trying to find a way to survive during the pandemic and release its films, a lot of talent felt that the way they went about doing it was disrespectful. There were a lot of threats from talent saying they would not work with the studio again.
No official announcement has been made by WB or Christopher Nolan yet, but we’ll see what happens.
