Christopher Nolan Talked to George Lucas About His Love for STAR WARS and Fans Are Hoping for a Nolan Trilogy
Several outlets have covered the opening gala celebrating George Lucas’s Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles. All the stars were there, and one conversation caught the eye of Star Wars fans, hopeful for another shot at some great Star Wars movies again in our future.
The conversation went down between Star Wars creator George Lucas and two-time Academy Award winning director Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, The Odyssey), with Nolan telling Lucas what a huge Star Wars fan he is. This got fans wondering if there was a chance that we could see a new trilogy with Christopher Nolan writing and directing.
The original trilogy is hands down the most beloved in the franchise, with the previously ridiculed prequel trilogy finding a more loyal fanbase over the last two decades. The most recent trilogy had fans confused and angry due to the lack of cohesive storytelling.
But if Nolan came up with a solid story within the Star Wars universe, he would obviously do the characters and story justice. He’s one of the most talented filmmakers today, and being a fan is obviously the first qualification to fans accepting your vision.
It could be really cool. Who knows if Nolan is actually interested in taking this on, as he usually has a project or two already in some stage of development. But if it were to become a reality, I think fans would have hope for the future of Star Wars for the first time in a while.
