Christopher Nolan Would Direct a James Bond Film When It's Ready For a Reinvention
Christopher Nolan is a director that I would love to see direct a James Bond movie! The guy is just such an incredibly talented filmmaker that could really take 007 to a whole new level. Maybe one day it will happen, and if it does that means the franchise is going to undergo a reinvention because Nolan reveals that's when he would be interested in coming on board.
During a recent interview with Playboy magazine (via Imgur), Nolan was asked if he would ever consider directing a James Bond film and this is what he said:
“A Bond movie, definitely. I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”
It's great to see that he's so enthusiastic about possibly taking on James Bond one day! I hope that the opportunity eventually presents itself one day. Right now, it sounds like the producers want to stick with what's been working for them recently.
We know we'll see another James Bond movie eventually, and a rumor recently surfaced that Daniel Craig will be coming back. But, that has yet to be confirmed.
Personally, I'd love to see Nolan come in a reinvent the franchise! I'm kind of surprised the producers aren't jumping at the chance! Oh well, maybe one day it will happen. I'm so curious to know what Nolan would do with the franchise if given the chance to direct.
