Christopher Nolan's TENET Had a Massive Production Budget! Will It Be a Massive Box Office Hit?

As you know, Christopher Nolan likes to go all-out on the moves he makes. They guy puts everything that he’s got into them to make sure that the vision of the story he wants to tell is fully realized. Nolan has a hell of an imagination, and just when you’re wondering if we’ll ever see him make a film that blows out minds again, he gives us Tenet.

While we still don’t know exactly what Tenet is about, the trailer that was released for is freakin’ awesome, and it got fans super pumped up to see it. I’ve been wondering though, will the movie end up be a big success at the box office? After all, this isn’t a remake, sequel, or comic book movie. This is an original idea from one of Hollywood’s best directors. While Nolan fans are 100% on board, are the rest of the audiences?

Warner Bros. made a big bet on this one and according to a report from Variety, Tenet had a massive $205 million dollar budget! That’s just for the production! That doesn’t count all the marketing dollars that will be pumped into the film. The studio obviously had a lot of confidence in Nolan.

While everything we’ve seen for this film is pretty vague, we know that it’s set in the high-stakes world of international espionage and there are also some trippy and crazy elements that go with it. I can’t help but think that Nolan and the film’s stars, John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, will win over critics. The question is, will audiences flock to theaters to see what it’s all about? I think they will, but what do you think?

Tenet hits theaters on July 17th. I hope it’s a success because then it proves that big-budget original movies have a place in the entertainment industry.
