Christopher Walken Joins Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE: PART TWO as Emperor Shaddam IV
Director Denis Villeneuve has cast Christopher Walken in Dune: Part Two! He will be taking on the role of Shaddam IV, the Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe.
This is pretty awesome and completely unexpected casting! Walken is amazing in everything that he’s in, and it’s going to be pretty cool to see him in a sci-fi epic like this!
Walken joins the other new cast members Florence Pugh (Black Widow) as the Emperor’s daughter, Princess Irulan; and Austin Butler (Elvis) as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, the presumptive heir to the Harkonnen dynasty.
Dune: Part Two will also bring back Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, and Javier Bardem.
When previously talking about the sequel, Villeneuve teased that this next movie is going to be the “main meal.” The director previously shared that Dune: Part One is just “an appetizer for the second part still to come.”
This is going to be an incredible sequel and it’s going to be epic! Production on the film is expected to start in the fall, with the film set to be released on October 20th, 2023.
