Christopher Walken Talked About Donuts In Between Takes While Shooting DUNE: PART TWO
If you’re ever in a situation where you find yourself having a conversation with Christopher Walken and you're wondering what to talk about with him, start the conversation off by talking about your favorite donuts. According to his Dune: Part Two co-star Florence Pugh, Walken just wanted to talk about donuts in between takes. She shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live:
“I spent most of my days with him and Charlotte Rampling and Léa Seydoux, but mostly him. And all of our stuff was so intense, so I kind of was just in a room with him for hours. … He’s surprisingly silly. In between takes, he would be talking to me about his favorite kind of donuts. [Laughs] And like, there’d be this huge kind of stand-off between everyone, and then he’d turn to me and be like, ‘What’s your favorite kind of donut?’ I was like ‘Jam-filled, obviously.’ And then we’d go and do another take of a really serious scene.”
Now, whenever I see Christopher Walken in Dune, I’m just going to think about him wanting to talk about donuts. Pugh went on to say that she thinks the actor used to make donuts.
He, I think, used to make donuts. That’s why we were talking about donuts. … Unless that’s a big secret, but I think he used to make doughnuts.”
As someone who loves donuts, and has actually been considering opening up a donut shop one day, if I ever get a chance to interview Walken, all I want to do is have a conversation with him about donuts! Then I want to make a batch of donuts with him.
