Claire Foy, Jamie Bell, and Andrew Scott Join The New Supernatural Thriller Film STRANGERS

Claire Foy (The Crown), Jamie Bell (Shining Girls), Andrew Scott (Fleabag), and Paul Mescal (Normal People) have joined the cast of a new film project titled Strangers. The movie is being directed by Andrew Haigh (Weekend, Lean on Pete), and it is loosely based on an award-winning novel by Taichi Yamada.

The film is a supernatural thriller that follows screenwriter “Adam (Scott) who, one night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, has a chance encounter with his mysterious neighbor Harry (Mescal) that punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As Adam and Harry get closer, Adam is pulled back to his childhood home where he discovers that his long-dead parents (Foy and Bell) are both living and look the same age as the day they died over 30 years ago.”

That sounds like a fascinating premise and it’s captured my curiosity. It’ll be interesting to see how this story ends up playing out.

The project is set up at Searchlight Pictures and the producers on the film are Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, and Sarah Harvey, with Ben Knight, Diarmuid McKeown, Ollie Madden, Daniel Battsek, and Farhana Bhula serving as executive producers.
