Clive Owen Joins Andrew Niccol's Sci-Fi Thriller ANON
Clive Owen has jumped on board an interesting sci-fi thriller called Anon being written and directed by Andrew Niccol. I'm a fan of this guy's work. He's directed films such as Gattaca, Lord of War, and most recently, Good Kill. He's also written scripts for The Truman Show and Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal.
This sounds like a great project for Niccols to take on. According to Variety, "Owen plays a detective in the psychological thriller set in a world with no privacy, ignorance and anonymity. It’s the end of crime. However, when Owen’s character stumbles on a young woman who doesn’t exist, he discovers it may not be the end of crime but the beginning."
I'm curious to see how this turns out. It seems like a solid project that has potential for both Niccols and Owen to create something great. It seems like a film that will allow Niccols to tap into the same kind of creative mindset that he has with Gattaca.
Owen is currently shooting Luc Besson’s sci-fi fantasy film Valerian.
