Coen Brothers to Write Spielberg and Hanks' Cold War Thriller

The untitled cold war thriller that Steven Spielberg is looking to direct and Tom Hanks wants to star in just got a lot more interesting. According to THR, Joel and Ethan Coen (Fargo, No Country for Old Men) have come on board to write the script.

The movie will tell the true story of James Donovan, "a prominent American attorney enlisted by the CIA during the Cold War to slip behind the Iron Curtain to negotiate the release of a pilot captured when his U-2 spy plane was shot down over Russia."

Hanks will be playing Donovan, and I think it's a perfect part for him to take on. Hanks is one of my all time favorite actors. I grew up watching everything that he ever did, and I'll keep watching his stuff. The guy is just so damn talented.

This is one of several projects that Spielberg is lining up to direct. Some of the other projects include Robopocalypse, Montezuma, and an adaptation of Roald Dahl's The BFG for DreamWorks, which he had committed to take on in early 2015. He's got time to fit one movie in before he jumps on that, but what will it be?

With Spielberg, Hanks, and the Coen Brothers teaming up for a movie we're in for a real treat!
