Colin Farrell Confesses MINORITY REPORT Mishap That Took Place After a Night Celebrating His Birthday
In a recent report from Mirror, Colin Farrell spoke out a a bit about his experience in filming the 2002 sci-fi flick Minority Report. He recalls that in that time of his life, he was drinking… a lot, and knew that his birthday would be during the shooting schedule, so he asked the powers that be for a day off, knowing the state he would be in after a night of partying. Here’s how he remembers it:
“There were a couple of hairy days. I asked them with a great array of arrogance that they not work me the day after my birthday. I said, ‘Please don’t have me working on June 1st, because my birthday is May 31st.’
But alas, his request was not met. He did show up that day, but it went just about as you would expect:
“I thought a 100 million dollar film would at least listen to that request... but I worked. It was a rough night and I didn’t get any sleep. The line was, ‘I’m sure you’ve all grasped the fundamental paradoxical pre-crime methodology’. I only know it now, still, 16 years later because it caused so much panic and anxiety. It should be on my tombstone. My sister was on the set that day and she had to leave the set after 56 takes. I was a disaster.”
56 takes! That is freaking rough! I bet the other members of the cast and crew were pissed by the end of all that. The good news is that Farrell finished the film, went on to win a Golden Globe for his performance in In Bruges, has continued to give us fantastic performances, and has been sober for 13 years. Good thing it all turned out all right.
