Colin Firth Joins Emily Blunt in MARY POPPINS RETURNS

Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Secret Service) is in negotiations to star alongside Emily Blunt in director Rob Marshall's Mary Poppins Returns. This casting makes complete sense because Firth seems like he actually belongs in a Mary Poppins film. He's perfect, and it's like one of the things he was born to do.

According to Variety, "Firth will play William Weatherall Wilkins, president of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank." The story is set 25 years after the events of the first film, and Jane and Micheal Banks, who are played by Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer, are all grown up when they unexpectedly get another visit from Poppins.

Meryl Streep was previously cast in the role of Poppins’ cousin, and Hamilton star and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda is set to play a street lamplighter named Jack. Firth is a perfect addition to this already incredible cast.

I'm a huge fan of the original Mary Poppins, and I can't wait to see how this sequel turns out. It's set to hit theaters on December 25th, 2018.
