Colin Trevorrow Rumored to be Directing STAR WARS: EPISODE IX
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow might end up directing Star Wars: Episode IX for Lucasfilm! The news was first reported by Heroic Hollywood ahead of the big Star Wars panel that is scheduled to take place later today in Hall H at Comic-Con.
According to the report, "Lucasfilm will bring out Colin Trevorrow onto the stage at Hall H to announce him as the next director of Star Wars: Episode 9!"
Trevorrow was previously rumored to be up for directing Star Wars: Episode VII before J.J. Abrams signed on. It turned out he was actually going to direct Jurassic World. I enjoyed what Trevorrow did with that flick, and so did a lot of other people as it has grossed over 1.4 billion dollars worldwide, so far.
I think Trevorrow is a solid choice to take on a Star Wars film. If this news turns out to be true, the studio obviously thinks he has the talent to conclude the story of this new trilogy that they are starting.
I'm sure we'll learn a lot more about Lucasfilm's plans later today at Comic-Con, so stay tuned!
