Colin Trevorrow Says Fans Underestimate The Size and Importance of Goldblum, Neill, and Dern in JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION
While recently talking about his upcoming film Jurassic World: Dominion, director Colin Trevorrow opened up about the film and says that the fans are “underestimating the size and importance” of Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern’s characters in the story. We’ve already heard that they will have decent sized roles in the film, but his comments here drive home the fact that they are a major part of the movie.
“This is the movie that I’ve been waiting to make from the beginning. It’s the one that we have spent the past two movies building to. It really was part of a larger story and part of the design. And I think people may be underestimating the size and importance of Laura Dern and Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum’s characters in this movie. It is very much an ensemble, and that [includes] the ability to take these beloved characters from almost 30 years now, and understand how they interact with each other in the context of a world that we’ve really never seen before, and have not been able to witness until now. It’s very exciting for me. I’m having the time of my life.”
We still don’t have any story details to share. But, we do know that this next chapter in the story will feature a world in which dinosaurs have escaped captivity and are living free in the world and it will explore how humanity is dealing with it. Also, Sam Neill previously said that this film will be the “best yet” in the franchise.
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda also star in the upcoming film, but no one is really talking about them. Let’s be honest, the main selling point of this next film is bringing back the original cast.
Jurassic World: Dominion opens in theaters on June 11, 2021.
