Colin Trevorrow Talks About JURASSIC WORLD 3 and Explains That It's Really JURASSIC PARK 6

One of the most exciting things about director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World 3 is the fact that the original Jurassic Park trio — Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum — are coming back to reprise their roles of Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, and Dr. Ian Malcolm. That just made me so happy, and I hope that they have a decent-sized role in the story.

During a recent interview with Empire, the director talked about bringing these characters back for the next chapter of the story. He explains that there’s a reason that they’ve been brought back together and says that Jurassic World 3 is really Jurassic Park 6.

“We’d have had to come up with a reason why Ellie, Malcolm and Grant all went to the theme park on the exact same day it broke down – again. The next film allows the legacy characters to be a part of the story in an organic way. Emily Carmichael and I call it ‘Jurassic Park VI’, because it is. You start asking the most basic questions: who are these people now? What do they make of the new world they’re living in, and how do they feel about being part of its history? Ultimately it will be in collaboration with the actors. They know and love these characters. We’ll do it together.”

Judging from that it sounds like these three characters will play a major role in the story and how it plays out. I’m looking forward to seeing what that story is because as of right now, we have no idea! I just assume that it will deal with the aftermath of the dinosaurs being unleashed into the world.

The movie also stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and DeWanda Wise. Jurassic World 3 is slated to open theaters on June 11, 2021.
