Colin Trevorrow Will Return to Direct JURASSIC WORLD 3

Colin Trevorrow is confirmed to be coming back to direct Jurassic World 3. I guess he now has the time on his hands since Lucasfilm didn't want him to direct Star Wars: Episode IX. I like what Trevorrow did with the first Jurassic World film, so I'm ok with him coming back to helm the third one, which he is co-writing with Emily Carmichael.

Entertainment Weekly broke the news and it includes a statement from producer Steven Spielberg saying, "Colin Trevorrow is going write and direct the third Jurassic World story." Trevorrow added:

"It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive. I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to 'Fallen Kingdom,' and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy."

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom won't be released until June, but everyone seems excited to get rolling on the third chapter of the story. Trevorrow initially pitched Jurassic World as a trilogy of films, so it's nice to see that it all worked out for him.

Fallen Kingdom is set to be released on June 22nd and Jurassic World 3 hits theaters on June 11th, 2021.
