Comedian Hannibal Buress Pranks SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Premiere
Comedian Hannibal Buress couldn't make the red carpet at last night’s premiere of Spider-man: Homecoming so he decided to prank everyone by sending a lookalike in his place.
To rub it in even more Buress posted a screenshot of his impostor doing an interview during the red carpet livestream. He later tweeted in response to the prank, “It’s called extreme FOMO.” FOMO is online slang for “fear of missing out.”
The Buress doppelgänger is identified as Joe Carroll and posted on Instagram a photo saying he would stand-in as Burress. He said Buress told him to “crash the red carpet since he couldn’t make it.”
Entertainment Weekly also reported that Buress tweeted earlier Wednesday to pay $500 for a lookalike to attend an event in his place.
Buress plays a high school coach in Spider-man: Homecoming, it hits theaters on July 7.
