Comic Artist Phil Noto Creates NEW MUTANTS Art of Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane and Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik
Last week it was announced that Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) was cast in the role of Wolfsbane in Josh Boone's feature film adaptation of New Mutants, and that Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) would play Magik. It's going to be awhile before we see them in their roles, but thanks to comic artist Phil Noto, we have an idea of what the actresses might look like as the characters who are also known as Illyana Rasputin and Rahne Sinclair.
I'm a fan of Noto's work and I really like how these turned out! It'll be interesting to see what these characters actually look like in the movie. I'm especially curious to see what Wolfsbane will look like in her fully mutated form.
The movie will focus on the angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball, and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix will be an alien named Warlock.
Magik is descripted as "a girl who has learned sorcery and uses teleportation discs to travel. She is also the sister of Colossus, an X-Man who appeared in Deadpool". Wolfsbane is described as "a girl struggling to reconcile her religious beliefs with her power to turn into a wolf".
The movie will start shooting in early July and it will be released in theaters on April 13, 2018.
