Comic-Con TV Panel Info for ASH VS. EVIL DEAD, AMERICAN GODS, LUKE CAGE, THE WALKING DEAD, PREACHER, and More
A ton of information has been released regarding several TV shows that will be making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. The following information is for shows coming from Starz, AMC, and of course, Marvel. Some of the shows that will be there include Ash Vs. Evil Dead, American Gods, Luke Cage, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Walking Dead, Preacher, and more!
Starz:
Ash Vs. Evil Dead is seriously one of the best series ever! I absolutely loved the first season, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I’m excited to report that Starz is bringing Ash Vs. Evil Dead back to San Diego Comic-Con this year ahead of its second season, and you can bet that Bruce Campbell will be there being his lovable smart aleck self. He seriously puts on some of the most entertaining panels.
The cable network will also be bringing the Neil Gaiman series American Gods to the event, which has been building a lot of hype. If you’re in attendance for either of these panels, you can count on seeing some footage from these series.
The Ash vs. Evil Dead panel will take place in Room 6A on July 23rd at 6:45 PM. Campbell will be there along with Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Ted Raimi, Lee Majors, and Michelle Hurd. there will also be an autograph session in the Ash cabin in San Diego’s Petco Park at 2 PM on that Saturday. To top things off, there will also be an Ash vs. Evil Dead screening at 10 PM that night in Room 6DE
The American Gods panel will take place in Room 6BCF on July 22nd at 3:15 PM. Gaiman will be in attendance along with showrunner Bryan Fuller. They will be joined by Ian McShane, Ricky Whittle, Pablo Shreiber, Bruce Langley, and Michael Green. The talent will also be on hand to sign autographs at the Starz booth on the convention floor that same day at 4:45 PM.
Marvel:
The only Marvel TV projects that I care about are their Netflix series. Everything else has been pretty disappointing.
The panel for Luke Cage will take place in Ballroom 20 on Thursday, July 21st at 5:45 PM. Mike Colter, Alfre Woodward, Mahershala Ali, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, Simone Missick, Cheo Hodari Coker, and Jeph Loeb will all be in attendance. At 3:15 PM on the same day there will be a signing at the Marvel Booth.
The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel is set to take place in Ballroom 20 on Friday, July 20th at 4:00 PM. The cast and producer of the series will be there to talk about the show and do a Q&A. At 4:30 PM there will a signing event with the cast that includes Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet, Ming-Na Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain de Caestecker, Henry Simmons, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeff Bell, and Jeph Loeb.
Then on Saturday, July, 23rd at 12:30 PM Marvel will be holding their animation panel, which used to be cool, but they don’t really have any good animated series or films anymore. The panel description says it will take you “behind-the-scenes into the world of Marvel Animation!” It goes on to say that there will be “exclusive sneak peeks from upcoming episodes, scoops on exciting new projects in development and some special guests that have secretly RSVP’d.”
AMC:
Finally, we have the panel information for AMC shows such as The Walking Dead and Preacher. Both of these shows are incredibly well done, and I’m looking forward to seeing the fans go crazy at The Walking Dead panel because of how season six ended. I doubt they will do a Q&A because that could get insane.
There will be a Walking Dead-themed booth on the Convention Center floor, where fans can stop by to take photos of themselves among Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) infamous “lineup” from the season six finale. There will also be a Fear the Walking Dead yacht at the Fifth Avenue Pier behind the Convention Center where fans can experience life aboard the Abigail.
The Walking Dead panel is set for Friday, July 22nd in Hall H at 1:00 PM. There will be a Fear the Walking Dead panel before that at 12:00 PM but I don’t know anyone that really cares for that spinoff.
The Walking Dead panelists include cast members Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, and Josh McDermitt along with Executive Producer and Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer, Director and Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero, and Executive Producer David Alpert. The panel will be moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick.
Oh yeah! There’s also a trailer for season seven that is expected to debut, but don’t think that it’s going to offer fans any answers to their burning question of WHO DIED!?
The Fear the Walking Dead panelists include cast members Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Frank Dillane, Lorenzo James Henrie, Mercedes Mason, Colman Domingo and Danay Garcia along with Executive Producer and Showrunner David Erickson, Executive Producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, and Dave Alpert. The panel will be moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick.
Then there’s Preacher, which has blossomed into one hell of a crazy awesome series! That panel will take place in Hall H on Friday, July 22nd, at 6:30 PM. The talent who will be available at the panel includes cast members Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Ian Colletti, and Graham McTavish, Executive Producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and Co-Executive Producer Garth Ennis. The panel will be moderated by Kevin Smith.
In addition, Kevin Smith’s annual Comic-Con panel will include a sneak peek of Geeking Out and a compilation of Kevin’s favorite scenes from season five of Comic Book Men. Kevin Smith will host a Hall H panel on Saturday, July 23th at 7 PM PT.
I’ll see you there!
