Compelling Trailer For The Angelina Jolie-Directed Film FIRST THEY KILLED MY FATHER
Netflix has released the first trailer for the new Angelina Jolie-directed film First They Killed My Father. The film is based on the memoir of Loung Ung and tells her gripping true story of surviving the deadly Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1978.
The story is told through her eyes, from the age of five, when the Khmer Rouge came to power, to nine years old. The film depicts the indomitable spirit and devotion of Loung and her family as they struggle to stay together during the Khmer Rouge years.
Jolie has proven herself to be a great director with films such as Unbroken and By The Sea. This new film of hers looks like an intense and powerful story. This is obviously an important story that she felt needed to be told and it seems like she did a great job bringing it to life.
The movie is set to be released on Netflix on September 15th.
