Composer Alan Menken Has Joined BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Live-Action Prequel Series at Disney+

Famed Disney composer Alan Menken, known for his numerous film compositions like Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast (both animated and live-action), Newsies, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid, as well as the sequel Disenchanted, Disney’s live-action The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the remake of Little Shop of Horrors, has a lot on his plate! And he’s adding another project as well.

Menken has come aboard to compose for the Disney+ Beauty and the Beast prequel that is set to detail the meeting and friendship for Gaston and LeFou. Did anyone ask for this? I don’t think so, but I did really love Luke Evans and Josh Gad in the roles of Gaston and LeFou, respectively. They were both really funny, and there was obviously a bit of an unrequited love situation there, that may be addressed in a sort odd couple/buddy film way.

I think everything Menken touches is gold, so we can expect some fun new songs in this movie as well, and that’s great news! Are you interested in watching this Gaston and LeFou prequel?
