Conan O'Brien Once Joked That Harrison Ford Could Play INDIANA JONES at 80 Years Old

What was once a joke on Late Night TV 17 years ago, seems more like prophecy today. During a guest appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien back in 2000, Harrison Ford told Conan O'Brien that he would like to reprise his role as Indiana Jones, but at the time they did not have a script. Conan then joked that the Indy franchise is so popular that he would watch it even if Dr. Jones was 80. Little did he know just how close to predicting the future he was.

Ford did eventually reprise his again role as Dr. Jones in 2007's Indiana Jones and the  Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which many thought would be his last time.  But now Ford is currently gearing up to don the fedora and whip one more time in 2020. Which means Ford will be in his late seventies when Indiana Jones 5 opens in theaters on July 10, 2020...just 2 years shy of 80 years old.

Let's just hope that director Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford can finally give Indy fans what they've been wanting ever since the Last Crusade...a good Indiana Jones movie.

Do you think Indy 5 will live up to the hype? Or will it suffer a similar fate that Crystal Skull did?

If you want to watch the segment I have embedded the video.  Skip to 7:03 if the video doesn't already start cued up.
