Cool AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON Poster Art “Beware the Moon” by Rich Davis

Artist Rich Davis has created an awesome new poster for director John Landis’ classic 1981 horror-comedy An American Werewolf in Londonf, and it perfectly captures the film’s creepy atmosphere.

Titled “Beware the Moon,” the print was created for Hero Complex Gallery and features a haunting London street under a massive full moon, with the iconic Underground entrance leading down to a terrifying werewolf lurking in the shadows.

I love the eerie green lighting mixed with the warm glow coming from the subway station. It’s a great piece of art that captures the film's playful and sinister tone. The print is available in two versions: a Regular Edition limited to 250 prints for $80 and a Metallic Edition limited to just 75 prints for $135.

I actually just rewatched An American Werewolf in London recently, and damn, this movie is still so much fun! It’s such a wonderfully strange mix of comedy and horror that manages to be genuinely funny one minute and absolutely terrifying the next.

David Naughton and Griffin Dunne are fantastic together, and the film’s dark humor, unsettling dream sequences, and unforgettable werewolf transformation still hold up incredibly well.

Rick Baker’s groundbreaking practical effects are just as impressive today as they were over 40 years ago, and that transformation scene remains one of the greatest moments in horror movie history.

What makes the movie such a classic is how effortlessly Landis balances the absurdity of the story with some seriously disturbing horror. It never takes itself too seriously, but when it wants to scare you, it absolutely delivers.

Davis’ “Beware the Moon” poster is a cool tribute to a horror classic that hasn't lost any of its bite.
