Cool Behind-The-Scenes Video Focuses on The Animation of SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF
I’m currently in the middle of watching Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim Takes Off anime series, and I’ve been loving it! This is such a fun show and the fans also seem to be enjoying it. If you’re a fan of the series, I’ve got a behind-the-scenes video that you’re going to want to watch.
This is a 10-minute video that focuses on the animation of the series, which is created by the Japanese animation studio Science SARU. There’s a lot of cool and interesting insight that is shared in the video. For example, the video explains that the voice cast recorded first their dialogue first, then they animated the series, which isn’t normal for animation studios in Japan.
The series is based on the comic books by Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley, and it’s also very much inspired by Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs the World movie.
This video features O'Malley, screenwriter BenDavid Grabinski, and director Abel Gongora, along with other members of the creative team talking about their experiences creating Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. You gotta appreciate the work that these creative artists put into these projects.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is produced by Edgar Wright and the returning cast includes Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Brie Larson as Envy Adams, Alison Pill as Kim Pine, Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Jason Schwartzman as Gideon Graves, Johnny Simmons as “Young” Neil Nordegraf, Mark Webber as Stephen Stills, Mae Whitman as Roxie Richter, and Ellen Wong as Knives Chau.
