Cool Featurette For THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER - "Stories From The Legendarium"

As a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien’s stories of Middle-Earth, I couldn’t be more excited about Amazon’s epic fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. I think this show looks freakin’ incredible and today we’ve got a cool new featurette for you to watch titled “Stories from the Legendarium”.

In the video, co-showrunner Patrick McKay says, "The Second Age is the great unfilmed story in Tolkien's entire legendarium, with the forging of the rings and the Last Alliance, and we felt that that was the story that deserved to be told.”

Morfydd Clark went on to discuss the story, explaining that Galadriel, the Lady of Lórien by the time of The Lord of the Rings, is on a mission: "Galadriel has been on a quest for over 1,000 years scouring Middle-earth searching for this elusive, undiscovered, very real evil. Ultimately, she knows this danger exists, this evil has to be stopped."

J.D. Payne adds that, "From the beginning, we knew she couldn't do this alone every good quest needs a fellowship." It’s also explained the scope of the show is going to be massive! It certainly looks massive!

On top of the interviews, the featurette also features stunning footage from the series as well as some behind-the-scenes stuff that fans will dig.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power “is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien's pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.”

The series is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 2, 2022. Enjoy the new featurette!
