Cool New TV Spot For The Upcoming Comanche Warrior PREDATOR Film PREY
Here’s a new TV spot for you to watch for director Dan Trachtenberg’s upcoming Predator film, Prey. This movie is set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago and the story follows a Predator on Earth hunting down Comanche warriors. This movie looks freakin’ awesome.
The movie follows a young woman named Naru, “a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.”
The film was produced by Jhane Myers (Monsters of God), who is an acclaimed filmmaker and member of the Comanche nation herself and “is known for her attention and dedication to films surrounding the Comanche and Blackfeet nations and her passion for honoring the legacies of the Native communities. As a result, the film features a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent.”
While the trailer for the film features dialogue being delivered in perfect English, the movie will also be released with an option to watch it in the Comanche language. It’s so cool that we will get to hear the characters speak as they would have 300 years ago.
The film’s cast includes Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, Roswell, New Mexico), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), and Julian Black Antelope (Tribal).
Prey will be released exclusively on Hulu on August 5, 2022.
