Cool Poster for AKRIA's 4K IMAX Theatrical Run
The classic Katsuhiro Otomo-directed anime film Akira has gone through a 4k restoration, and the movie is supposed to get an IMAX theatrical run. To promote the event, IMAX and Toho Studios released a cool poster for the film to get fans excited.
The movie is supposed to hit theaters on April 3rd, but I have no idea if that’s still going to happen. We don’t know if theaters will be open! If they do reopen, then I imagine this screening will still move forward.
Akira was my introduction into anime when I was growing up, and it completely melted my mind. I had no idea that this kind of animation existed, and from that moment on I was hooked. Damn… this movie is great! I’ve actually never seen it on the big screen, so this is something I’d very much be interested in attending.
