Cool Promo Art For Netflix's CASTLEVANIA Animated Series Was Inspired By the Original NES Box Art

Some great new promo art has surfaced for Netflix's new animated Castlevania series. What I love about this is that it was awesomely inspired by the original NES box art, only it's done in the same animation style as the game. The art features the main character Simon Belmont wielding his whip as he faces the castle in the distance, with Dracula looking over the sinister castle.

Last week the first trailer was released for the new series, which you need to check out here in case you missed it. This show looks like it's going to be so cool and the trailer definitely got me excited for it. I was such a huge fan of the original game and it's so fun to see this new series call back to that game that many of us grew up playing.

Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar.

The series is being produced by Adi Shankar (Dredd), who previously revealed that there are currently two seasons ready to go and that both of those seasons were written by comic writer Warren Ellis (Thunderbolts, Wolfskin, Red, Fell, Iron Man). The first season is set to air later this year on July 7th, and season two is coming in 2018.
