Death in the Family chronicles the tragic death of second Robin, Jason Todd, at the hand of the Joker. The film will act as a prequel to 2010's Batman: Under the Red Hood and will feature several returning voice actors, including Bruce Greenwood as Batman, Vincent Martella as Jason Todd, John DiMaggio as Joker, Zehra Fazal (Young Justice) as Talia al Ghul and Gary Cole (Veep) as both Two-Face and Commissioner Gordon.

Trained as Batman’s protégé, Jason Todd brings a relentless sense of justice as Robin, who sets his sights on bringing down the Joker. But can Batman save Robin from a fate worse than death? Tragedy, revenge and redemption await in this groundbreaking DC film! Who will live? Who will die? Who will watch over Gotham? Also includes 4 additional DC Showcase Shorts: Adam Strange, Sgt. Rock, The Phantom Stranger, and Death.

Viewers will be given the opportunity to decide how the story plays out for the Caped Crusader and Robin with the multiple branching story paths to choose from.

The film is being produced, directed, and written by Brandon Vietti, and it takes place in “a world where the infamous murder of Batman protégé Jason Todd will be undone, and the destinies of Batman, Robin and The Joker will play out in shocking new ways as viewers make multiple choices to control the story.”

Batman: Death in the Family serves as the anchor for an anthology of 2019-2020 animated shorts, including Sgt. Rock, Adam Strange, Death, and The Phantom Stranger. The set arrives from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray and Digital starting October 13, 2020.
