Cool Trailer for Netflix's Adaptation of Frank Miller's Excalibur Story CURSED with Katherine Langford
Netflix has released the first trailer for it series adaptation of Frank Miller’s Arthurian inspired graphic novel Cursed. According to the legend, Excalibur chooses someone worthy to save the people when a threat arises. In this story, Excalibur chooses a queen.
Cursed looks like it’ll be a fun series, and I like what I’m seeing in the trailer. I really want this show to be good because I’m a fan of these kinds of stories that revolve around Arthurian legends and Excalibur.
Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) takes on the role of Nimune in the story; she is “a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.”
Cursed is described as “a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.”
The trailer teases Langford’s Nimue and Devon Terrell’s Arthur, who will join forces to fight against king Uther Pendragon and the villainous Red Paladins led by Peter Mullan’s Father Carden. The story will also include some of the legendary members of the Round Table, with Matt Stokoe portraying Sir Gawain and Gustaf Skarsgård playing Merlin.
All episodes of Cursed will be available on Netflix starting July 17th.
