Cops was one of those shows that I used to watch all the time when I was growing up. It featured various U.S. police officers as they made their runs in cities across the nation. The series was canceled last year after it came under fire in recent years for its depictions of law enforcement and questionable behind-the-scenes practices.

Well, Fox Nation has stepped in to revive the series. Fox Nation is the streaming-video service that’s backed by Fox News Media. Fox Nation will launch a 33rd season of the show on October 1st with four new episodes. They will release a new episode of the series weekly on Friday nights. It was also revealed that they will release 15 episodes from the show’s 32nd season.

As part of the launch, Fox Nation will offer a free one-year subscription to police, firefighters and emergency responders. Jason Klarman, president of Fox Nation, said in a statement, “Cops is one of the most iconic brands on television with an incredibly passionate fan base.”

There are several other shows being released on Fox Nation that will put the focus on first responders including a ride-along series titled 911: On Scene, “which will track firefighters and paramedics from across the country.” Another show is When Seconds Count, which “will showcase footage of rescues and will be anchored by Fox News Channel’s Harris Faulkner.” Protect and Serve is another show that will hosted by Fox News Channel contributor Ted Williams, it “will spotlight good deeds done by police officers.” Then there’s Answer the Call, which will “tell stories about the children of fallen first responders, and is centered on a charity that has the same name as the show and supports families of first responders killed in the line of duty on 9/11.”
