Corridor Crew Reacts to MICHAEL, DOOM PATROL's Insane VFX, and TRANSFORMERS 3

Corridor Crew is back with another episode of their VFX Artists React series, and this one features everything from a photorealistic chimpanzee to some of the weirdest visual effects ever put on television.

The crew kicks things off with Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic, taking a closer look at the digital recreation of his famous pet chimpanzee, Bubbles.

They're impressed by the realistic fur, eye details, and physical interactions, although the chimp's humanlike expressions occasionally venture into uncanny valley territory. They also examine the digital tricks used to recreate Jackson's changing facial appearance throughout the film.

From there, things get completely bonkers with Doom Patrol, featuring bizarre transformations, a giant rat making out with a cockroach, and a terrifying creature known as the Were-Butt. The crew has plenty of fun trying to make sense of the madness while breaking down the CGI, animation, and motion blur that bring these ridiculous creations to life.

The episode also takes a look at Falling in Reverse's insane music video for "Ronald", featuring massive skeleton armies, motorcycle stunts, and some seriously impressive visual effects.

The crew even chats with cinematographer Paul Robinson, who explains how they used blue screens, practical lighting, and clever camera techniques to pull off the action.

Finally, they revisit Transformers: Dark of the Moon and reveal the incredible amount of work Industrial Light & Magic put into creating the massive Driller sequence. The creature reportedly contained more than 80,000 individual components, and some shots required an estimated 288 hours to render a single frame for one eye.

ILM even dedicated its entire render farm to the movie for a weekend to get the work finished. It's a fascinating look at the creativity, technical headaches, and occasional insanity that go into making movie and TV visual effects.
