Court Documents Allege Geoffrey Rush Is "Virtually Housebound," Following Allegation Of Inappropriate Behavior
Geoffrey Rush has filed a defamation case against a newspaper that published allegations of inappropriate behavior from an anonymous individual who worked with the actor when he was in the Sydney Theater Production. Rush denied the allegation, and in the time since his lawyers have said he is "virtually housebound."
Deadline also reports the actor is hardly eating, barely sleeping, and feels very anxious in public. Rush said the allegations published against him, though not sexual in nature, have lumped him in with the #MeToo movement.
In the time since the allegation Rush has resigned as president of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts. The court proceedings will continue in the actor's defense.
