COWBOY BEBOP is Getting a Live-Action Series Adaptation with THOR: RAGNAROK Writer Chris Yost

If you're a fan of the popular 1989 anime series Cowboy Bebop, you might be interested in learning that it's getting a live-action series adaptation. Cowboy Bebop is a great anime and I'm curious to see how they handle this live action adaptation.

The series is being developed by Tomorrow Studios and a partnership between ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein. It will also be executive produced by Sunset Inc., which is the same studio that produced the original anime series.

On top of that, they've hired Marvel writer Chris Yost to write the adaptation! Yost recently wrote Thor: Ragnarok as well as animated projects such as The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Wolverine, and the X-Men, Hulk Vs., X-Men: Evolution and more. He's a talented writer and a great choice to take on this project.

Cowboy Bebop, which takes place in 2071 in the original version, follows Spike Spiegel and his gang of bounty hunters, also known as cowboys, as they cavort around the galaxy attempting to capture bad guys and survive some of the most intense dangers the galaxy has to offer. The anime series has been successful in Western markets, and is credited with introducing a new wave of Western viewers to anime. It’s also widely cited as one of the best anime series of all time.

It seems a lot of anime properties are looking at live-action feature film adaptations, so it's cool to see that they are a looking to do a series for Cowboy Bebop. I think a lot of properties like this would work better as series anyway. I'm more excited to see it as a series than I am a film.

What do you think about Cowboy Bebop getting a live action TV series?
