Crazy Final Trailer for THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TEARS OF THE KINGDOM Hints at So Much More

The final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has dropped! I am so hyped for this game. We already knew about awesome new abilities like the Fuse ability, but after this trailer, my levels of excitement are off the charts! Series producer Eiji Aonuma once again introduced the trailer and talked about how this game “seamlessly connects the surface and sky.”

Is that Ganondorf or Demise? Is that a ship? Is Wind Waker also being roped into this? Who was that talking to Zelda? This trailer looks so good! There’s so much that I can’t process it all! It sounds like Matt Mercer is indeed going to be voicing Ganondorf which is dope. We see some cool weapon fusions like a sword with a shield built-in. We see some cool use of the rewind feature introduced last time in combat. There’s a cool fire hydra that Link will have to face. I’m so in! We see more of Link’s allies seemingly joining the fight. Some new creatures that I’m unsure what they are, but they are not good guys.

A couple of things. First, it looks like Ganondorf is there, but that first shot in the trailer with the bright red hair(?) looks a lot more like Demise from Skyward Sword. Also, we have that shot of someone in a cloak talking with Zelda and I feel like I should know who that is, but I cannot think of it. If you know, please comment below and help me out. I feel like it’s someone from Twilight Princess.

So, my takeaways are that this game will be incredible. Also, it seems to be really tying in more and more previous Zelda games. We knew Skyward Sword was connected and this trailer seems to indicate that at least Windwaker and maybe even Twilight Princess and others are also going to be connected. That would make some sense since the official timeline has Breath of the Wild happening sometime after all three of the split timelines and Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. What do you think of all this? Am I missing something obvious? Probably. Let me know in the comments!
