Lionsgate has released a red-band trailer for Nicolas Cage’s upcoming action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and this movie looks like it’s going to be a crazy good time! This is the ultimate Nicolas Cage film as the actor plays himself in the movie where he’s put in a situation where he becomes a real-life hero. It’s a celebration of the greatness of Nic Cage, and I can’t wait to watch it!
The story follows Cage as he finds himself creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, so “the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones. With a career built for this very moment, the seminal award-winning actor takes on the role of a lifetime: Nick Cage.”
The movie also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Sharon Horgan, Jacob Scipio, and Joanna Bobin. The movie was directed by Tom Gormican (That Awkward Moment, Ghosted) from a screenplay that was written by Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten.
